asking for a friend of my dad. I’m guessing the current one is on the way out for something that resembles this latest concept. Note, he’s an old school dude. He likes his Jaguar, Lincoln, and Buick. Not into the futuristic looking Lexus, non V8 RWD option of Volvo, or way too sporty German stuff. Cigar, fine tequila, classy old school gentleman

Man, Ford is really doubling down on imitation Land Rovers.

That grille could be way more understated. It’s better than the new Tahoe, Escalade and the lexus GX but still not great. I think they absolutely nailed it on the new Continental but.... this one not so much.

Better.

Escalade beats this car in looks any day.
![]() 10/13/2016 at 11:26 |

I would say it’s not quite as good of a car as the Escalade, but it’s also quite a bit cheaper. Plus I think all but the first gen navigators look very cool.
![]() 10/13/2016 at 11:31 |

It’d be better with doors.
![]() 10/13/2016 at 11:36 |

Nah, it’s too big for me.

They still make it?
![]() 10/13/2016 at 11:37 |

Looks like a classied-up minivan with the lack of door handles. If it had actually delineated doors and handles it might not look so bad. As is though, there’s just too much sheetmetal without anything to break it up.
![]() 10/13/2016 at 11:38 |

Let’s all remember this is a concept, the doors were only done so they could show off the interior, they’re 100% impractical and would never make the final vehicle.
As far as the current gen Navigator. Our CEO’s wife drives one. The CEO went and test drove it and the Expedition and he said he was blown away at how much nicer than the high end Expedition the Navigator was.
For reference he daily drives an Audi S8 alternating with a King Ranch F-250. He also has a First Gen Raptor with the 6.2L and traded in an Audi Q7 to get the S8, he’s no stranger to nice vehicle or high end SUV’s.
Now, if he says the Nav is THAT nice, I’m impressed because I thought the Expedition Platinum was heaven.

Based on my astute observations it is considerably larger than my Fiat.

It certainly won’t end up looking like this concept, but thoughts on this concept are...
...also, regardless of what the cost comes out as...it’s way,
way
overpriced.

I started out hating it, but it’s really grown on me. Except for those ugly taillights and wheels. The doors are obviously never going to make it to production, but I’m hoping it looks as close to this as possible. It’s big and imposing, which it should be.
![]() 10/13/2016 at 12:37 |

If he wants a V8, I doubt there will be one available. The current Navigator went to the 3.5 liter EcoBoost V6 as its only engine option.

The Expedition Limited is quite nearly as nice as the Navigator. If He can have it for less, go with that. Both a nice, but a bit too plastic. Navigators styling doesn’t do it for me, exterior wise. Interior is a notch up... But not like how the escalade is a notch up from the Tahoe. Even those two don’t change too much though, but the Escalade is definitely a noticeable upgrade where the Navigator is a lotta just nameplate.

Does absolutely nothing for me, but I’m sure it’ll be a fine luxo-rig. If I had to have an SUV in that price range, it’d be a Land Cruiser or Range Rover for sure.
![]() 10/13/2016 at 13:43 |

whoops, missed a comma :] He’s not a fan of the front wheel drive bias SUV’s. He doesn’t mind ecoboost, but isn’t a fan of it either.
![]() 10/13/2016 at 13:45 |

agreed! i think it looks the radness and hope it make it to production as close as possible

![]() 10/13/2016 at 13:49 |

heck yeah, 1st gen Navigators were the tits back in the day! This isn’t too bad and pricing should be competitive. Dat ecoboost will be a key feature
![]() 10/13/2016 at 13:50 |

oh wow the Expedition was nicer? Interesting. They have always been rad. We had a black 2000 EB

MontegoMan was saying that. I’m looking at them right now and like the LX570 and Land Cruiser, I think I perfect the original platforms :]

lol right? Even their adult children (XC90 and F-Pace)
![]() 10/13/2016 at 13:54 |

Doubt the production will have those monster Model X doors but in normal shape, it looks.... not bad

i guess because of the ecoboost and a/c and coolant and etc. the flow patch has to be sort of big

hmmm idk, I’ve never been a fan of Escalade

Current Navigator is MUCH better than what most people think. I come form an 07 Expedition EL and the Navigator with the 3.5 was miles better.

I knew hey did but wasn’t sure about its future

I saw a 2015 Denali XL driving like a psycho FULL of people with the windows down on Sunday. At every stop light it would do burnouts. The paint for some unknown reason was already sun damaged and in horrid shape on the bonnet and roof. Little wanna be gansters inside driving dumb with the factory radio blasting. A little down the road, it was broke down with the bonnet open, smoke everywhere. RIP perfectly fine and expensive truck
![]() 10/13/2016 at 14:19 |

some here are saying the Expedition Platinum is up there if not better than Navigator. I’ve always liked them both. Not top quality, but not anything bad :] We had a 2000 Expedition EB in black waaay back in the day
![]() 10/13/2016 at 14:29 |

Sounds like they ruined that car quick. Fucking twats. They are great trucks though.
![]() 10/13/2016 at 14:35 |

I like them as well. Sucks so many of them get ruined but classless douchers here in my city. Hard to find one without awful wheels and cosmetic “enhancements”
![]() 10/13/2016 at 14:39 |
|
The Continental has smaller vents under the main one.
![]() 10/13/2016 at 14:40 |

UHHHHGGGGGGG, I don’t understand why so many people can’t do understated class. I would love a Denali, but base brushed aluminum wheels and take the badging off. Those enhancement people are the people that put money into a car they bought a “buy here, pay here” lot and then stop paying for the car, but will buy $4k in “rimz” and such.

lol bingo.
How to make a beautiful new SUV drop its value by 40% in a year for $800 Alex
![]() 10/13/2016 at 15:08 |

No I think you misunderstood, I think the Expedition is heaven, haven’t been in the Navigator, I’m amazed it could be that much better but he’s blown away by how nice the Navigator is.

Also read the shit post? lol
I just don’t understand it...
